Mercy Medical Center is a community teaching hospital grounded in the tradition of providing excellent health care, with compassion and respect, to all who come to us.  The dedication and generosity of our corporate partners, benefactors, and friends have helped us to advance, to remain steadfast in our mission to serve the poor, and to provide exceptional care to every patient.

Mercy cares for many at-risk, low income individuals who live in the surrounding communities.  We serve an urban population suffering from poverty, high infant mortality, and shorter life expectancies than the national average.  Twenty-two percent of MercyMedicalCenter patients are underserved.  Last year, Mercy devoted 11.8% of its operating budget to benefit the poor and underserved, compared to the Maryland State hospital average of 9%.
